If you want to get a quality holster for before this class, feel free to contact us or Brent Hickmon of Haven Defense Co. (970-987-3471) for an excellent, custom-made holster.

Haven Defense Co.

Brent is local to the Western Slope of Colorado near Grand Junction; he and his lovely wife make holsters on a full-time basis for incredible shooters all over America, is an accomplished shooter in his own right, and is a certified Master Handgun Instructor with Defenders USA.
Brent has assisted teaching with me at the AG&AG National Conference for four years in a row and his wife, Marissa, is also an AG&AG member in Colorado. They also host a vendor booth at the AG&AG National Conference, where their holsters can be bought, ordered, or picked up.

Friday is a dry fire clinic in a classroom teaching excellent fundamentals of solid, repeatable structure (grip, stance, platform, etc.), trigger use, aiming, gear issues, and far more. We’ll spend a good amount of time perfecting this for everyone attending, and teaching how to train long after this training weekend is over in order to maintain and grow skills.
This will be foundational to the entire weekend of training – or will be of great long-term benefit to those who chose to only attend Friday evening.

Saturday is not a fast paced-class; it will be a thoughtful, careful training session in order to build skill and confidence, and deep connection with the gun when shooting. We will focus completely on getting handgun use and fundamentals exactly correct and repeatable for each person, with safe, correct handling and accuracy as a result of good fundamentals.

If the class as a general whole shows high proficiency in the above areas quickly, we will move into using a handgun with speed while also still engaging in precision.

Sunday will become faster-paced, working on extreme accuracy and into a deliberate, consistent, quick draw from the holster, preferably concealed, at increasingly difficult targets from varying distances, shooting multiple rounds at speeds while maintaining accuracy, transitioning targets, shooting in movement and while moving, and more.
The intent of this training is for those who do or are considering carrying a handgun concealed, yet is also excellent for duty with duty gear or for those who compete using competition gear. Your purpose is the important part, and we’ll build your guns skills from where you for your best purpose in your own handgun journey.

***Note**** The Sunday portion of this weekend builds upon the skills from Saturday.
