This Handgun Skill Builder: Meeting You Where You Are will be taught by Defenders USA’s Adam Winch. It is open to the general public but mainly intended for the wonderful people associated with A Girl & A Gun Woman’s Shooting League, which will have just concluded their massive national conference there at Cameo.
AG&AG Ladies, this will not be a physically demanding day, as you will likely be feeling the effects of the previous days of excellent training. This day will be thoughtful skill building with what YOU need, even though others may be needing refinement in other areas.
We will meet on Bay #9.
Range Fee:
There is a $20 per day Range Fee so please bring that in cash.
It will be collected at the beginning of the course and given to the range staff.
We will start at 9 am and go till around 5 pm.
Please be a few minutes early to fill out range waivers and to have your gear ready.
This Handgun Skill Builder: Meeting You Where You Are is a one-day training course intended for those who are already safe, proficient handgun handlers and shooters. There will be a faster paced day the next day – Skill Building Thru Serious Drills – where there will be a lot of shooting using tough drills that would challenge even highly advanced shooters in order to expose and then work on areas where more even more refinement is needed.
This Handgun Skill Builder: Meeting You Where You Are is intended for those wanting to solidify shooting and handling skills through expert coaching and personal experimenting, and then ultimately grow the abilities do so at speed.
We will start with refining handling and accuracy to find the skill level of each individual and the group as a whole before moving to extreme precision, then into building or refining an efficient draw stroke with accuracy and recoil management, finding and stretching each attendees’ personal limits based on abilities.
This will be a thoughtful approach in training, allowing everyone attending to experiment and work through many technical and mental aspects, and should be help you grow as a shooter.
Needed items:
Handgun (or more in case the primary handgun goes down)
Reliable, quality holster & three magazines
***Note on holsters: NO Serpa or similar holsters, NO purse holsters, NO pocket holsters, NO bra or cross draw holsters, NO ankle holsters, NO floppy or soft nylon holsters, etc.)
At least 350 rounds of ammo but feel free to bring more. This should be a very thoughtful course without a high round count so we may use even less.
Eye & ear protection
Any wanted snacks & non-alcoholic beverages
A brimmed hat
Weather appropriate clothing for an outdoor environment
Any wanted snacks and non-alcoholic beverages
A lunch, as there will not be time to leave the range for lunch.
$20 range in cash

A camping type chair (one that that can take a small amount of abuse)
Any sunscreen & bug spray wanted
This course will require thoughtfulness and experimenting; ultimately to grow confidence and abilities with a gun to higher levels.
This course will be taught by Adam Winch, Defenders USA’s founder and lead instructor. Adam is a certified Master Instructor, with an extensive background in both real-life dangerous situations as both a law enforcement officer and in the military, and as a nationally recognized trainer.
