Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit Course – Cameo, Colorado – 11-28-26
This Concealed Handgun Permit Course meets and surpasses Colorado requirements of C.R.S. 18-12-202.5. For New CHP applicants and will also work for renewals but is the full 8 hour class.
Led by Brent Hickmon, Mesa County Sheriff Verified CHP Instructor
Our CHP Course addresses:
- Use of force in defense of your life and of others,
- Colorado defensive firearm and conceal carry laws,
- Use and carry of CHP/CCW on property, businesses, vehicles, and in the home
- Firearm safety and fundamentals of marksmanship
- Best practices to ensure concealed handgun permit holders safely interact with law enforcement
- Techniques for avoiding a criminal attack and how to manage a violent
confrontation, including conflict resolution and judgmental use of lethal force. - Extreme Risk Protection Orders described in Article 14.5 of Title 13.
- Requirements for reporting lost or stolen firearms as described in C.R.S. 18-12-113.
- Requirements for secure firearms storage as described in C.R.S, 18-1 2-114.
ITEMS NEEDED. Writing utensil, notebook, handgun, 50 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection, holster, (no SERPA or other trigger release mechanism holsters permitted.) If you are new and do not own a holster we recommend reaching out to https://havendefenseco.com/ for local high quality products, or reach out to us so we can arrange to have you table your handgun for the shooting portion requirements of this class. Water and a pack lunch. There will be a 30 minute lunch in this 8 hour course. 5hour classroom and 3 hour range portions.
DATE & TIME – Saturday 11/28/2026 8:30am-5pm with 30 minute lunch break.
LOCATION – Cameo Shooting & Education Complex 3934 I 9/10 Rd, Palisade, CO 81526 – Meet in upper loft.
COST – $200.00
This CHP Course has become renown as one of the most in-depth and extensive CHP / CCW Courses available in the Colorado. So, even if you already have a CHP / CCW permit and had gone through a different training course for that permit, we encourage you to consider attending this course also. It is very common for those who’ve been through other courses somewhere else but then attend ours to inform us that they learned more in our CHP / CCW and other firearms courses than anywhere else.
