Advanced Fighting Handgun – Grand Junction, CO

Date(s) - 04/28/2018

Outdoor Range (TBA in registration email)

The Advanced Fighting Handgun (AFH) Course is the natural progression beyond our Defenders Series or the Defensive Handgun I & II courses, and we generally will not accept anyone in the AFH unless solid proficiency have been demonstrated in the previous course or through known, provable prior training and experience. Exceptions will occasionally be made based at the discretion of D-USA staff.

The AFH Course is a full day of advanced and unorthodox handling and shooting, all on the range. The skills from the Defenders Series or DH1 & 2 are reinforced quickly at the beginning of this course, and we’ll move forward from there.

This AFH Course will covers malfunction drills, one handed-reloads, malfunction drills, 360 degrees draw strokes, unorthodox positional fighting, handling, and shooting, shooting from and best uses of cover and concealment, long range shooting, handling and shooting in and around vehicles, high-stress physical exertion shooting, shooting in defend of others from multiple positions and locations, extreme precision shooting, and far more.

The students will also engage in realistic scenario-based situations, responding to complex threats and will also need to explain the legal justification for their actions or non-actions within these scenarios.

This is a mentally and physically challenging course, taking the students confidence and ability to defend life with a gun to even higher levels.

Each student will need to bring a handgun, reliable holster, three magazines, at least 650-1000 rounds of ammo, eye and ear protection, weather appropriate clothing for an outdoor environment, and any wanted food or non-alcoholic beverages for this course.

The lunch break will be not be lengthy and it is usually best to bring food for a lunch break there at the range.

Call 970-986-0774 with any further questions.

We look forward to seeing you in the Advanced Fighting Handgun Course.

“You may have seen posts from me before recommending Defenders-USA training here in Grand Junction. Here is another one!

I completed the Defensive and Fighting Applications Rifle course this Saturday and again was not disappointed! I grew up hunting and using rifles but I did not have much experience with the AR-15 platform or using a rifle from a defensive/home defense perspective. After a long and challenging day, and around 650 rounds, I can say I have a much better grasp and much more confidence!

As always at Defenders-USA, the course was taught by highly trained and battle tested instructors that are able to teach effectively.

If you have firearms in your home or are even considering Concealed Carry, you really ought to look up Defenders-USA and get some REALISTIC training.

Defenders-USA also does unarmed self-defense classes, and I am looking forward to being able to participate in one of those. They have one coming up this weekend I believe.

Once again, I can’t recommend Defenders-USA highly enough! It is one thing to have defensive “equipment” at your disposal, but it is even more important in my opinion to have the realistic training necessary to use WHATEVER equipment you have available in an effective manner! Defenders-USA provides that training!”
