Concealed Carry / CCW Course – Cortez, CO

Date(s) - 04/22/2017

Montezuma County Fairgrounds

This CCW Course is the beginning portion of many of our more advanced firearms courses. Though the CCW Course can be taken as a stand-alone course, we highly recommend you invest in further defensive handgun training with us beyond this CCW Course.

Our CCW Course meets and surpasses the requirements for a Colorado Concealed Carry Weapons permit. This course addresses:

  • Use of force in defense of your life and of others,
  • In-depth Colorado defensive firearm and conceal carry laws,
  • Use of a handgun and CCW carry in the public, on your own property, businesses, vehicles, and in the home
  • Firearm safety,
  • and much more

This CCW Course has become renown as one of the most in-depth and extensive CCW Courses available in the Colorado area. So, even if you already have a CCW permit and had gone through a different training course for that permit, we encourage you to consider attending this course.
It is very common for those who’ve been through other courses somewhere else but then attend ours to inform us they learned more in our CCW and other firearms courses than anywhere else. It’s not about the money for us – we already have the lowest costs for such quality training – instead we want to get solid knowledge and training to all who seek excellent training. We have seen far too many victims of violent crime and we want to help people best survive in an unfortunate situation in order to bring as much high quality education and training to as many people as we can.

For those who provably attended any other CO CCW Course within the last three (3) years, we urge you to attend and offer this course at 50% the normal costs. We have consistently found such attendees are very surprised by how much they will learn in comparison to what they’d previously attended and are always – without exception – very happy they took the time to attend this CCW Course.
For those who fit this category, please call instead of registering online (970-986-0774).
This offer is a half-off special, please come!

Items needed:
– Note-taking material
– Any non-alcoholic beverages or food you may want
– Willingness to learn and a sense of humor, this is fast-paced, funny class of great legal depth that will also open your mind in ways that will surprise you.
– Defenders USA will provide everything else for this class

We also have expert firearms training courses beyond this CCW Course and we encourage you to enroll in those also.

We look forward to seeing you and those you know and love in this CCW Course.

Course location:
Montezuma County Fairgrounds

CCW Course times:
9:30 am to 2:30 pm. (there will be time for a short lunch; feel free to bring one or purchase some of the great food available there at the Fairgrounds.)

NOTE: Please be on time! Please be on time!!

For Montezuma County residents only, due to policies mandated by the Montezuma County Sheriff, you will need to attend a short shooting session along with this CCW Course before the MCSO will issue a CCW permit.
The CCW Course itself will be held at the Fairgrounds on Saturday morning, starting at 9:30 am till 2 pm’ish.
This CCW Course is all that is needed for a CCW Permit for anyone who does not live in Montezuma County; non-MCSO residents do not need to go into this shooting portion immediately after the CCW Course, unless you simply want too. More training can’t hurt, right?

For Montezuma County residents, there will be openings needed for the shooting portion immediately after the classroom portion, held at the Four Corners Rifle & Pistol Club’s Indoor Range on Lebanon Road (The indoor range is right next to the marijuana “clinic” with the huge marijuana flag – yep, total irony).
This shooting portion will take only take a few minutes between 3 – 7 pm so Defenders USA staff can observe you safely handle and shoot a handgun.
We will be there during those times so you can stop anywhere during that time frame and quickly go through the mandated shooting portion of the CCW Course for MCSO residents. Once you’ve completed the Sheriff-mandated shooting portion, you will be issued your CCW Certificate.

***If an MCSO resident cannot attend the Saturday morning session scheduled for the CCW portion, please let me know and we will do our best to accommodate you on Sunday and possibly Monday.

Note: Due to the many different makes and models of handguns the population at large has, along with the varying types of ammo also out there, we will provide the needed handgun and ammo for this portion of the course. You will not need to bring a handgun or ammo with you, though you are more than welcome any along so we can go over your personal handgun(s).

Further training opportunity:
If you decide you would benefit from further realistic defensive handgun training(which you would!), we will be holding several realistic defensive & fighting handgun training courses the next day. See our calendar for more information and to register for the “Defensive Handgun I” (Sunday morning).
***If attending any of those defensive handgun courses, MCSO residents will not need to also attend the MCSO-mandated short shooting session on Saturday afternoon after the classroom portion of the CCW Course Saturday morning.
