This training course is open to the public but will have a lot of the ladies of AG&AG chapters there as students.
This course is ALSO excellent for the veteran handgun user who wants to revisit the fundamental to increase or fine-tune their skills, as the fundamentals are foundational to all good shooting, Even if you see yourself as a good shooter, you will absolutely will learn in this class and it will change some or much of how you handle and shoot, causing guaranteed improvements that will surprise you.
We’ll start at 8:30 am at the Green Valley Rifle and Pistol Club, 4350 Academy Rd., Hallsville, MO 65255) and end around 5 pm both days.
NOTE: There is a $20 Range Fee per day each shooter will need to bring in cash.
On Saturday, we will focus on safe, efficient handling and accuracy with a handgun, building your confidence in the use of and shooting a handgun.
On Sunday, we’ll add speed and dial in the accuracy as the courses of fire become more challenging and as skills continue to grow.
If you want to get a quality holster for before this class, feel free to contact us or Brent Hickmon of Haven Defense Co. (970-987-3471) for an excellent, custom-made holster. Brent is local to the Western Slope of Colorado; he and his lovely wife make holsters on a full time basis for incredible shooters all over America, an accomplished shooter in his own right, and is a certified Advanced Handgun Instructor with Defenders USA.
Saturday is not a fast paced-class; it will be a thoughtful, careful training session in order to build skill and confidence. We will focus completely on getting handgun use and fundamentals exactly correct and repeatable for each person, with safe, correct handling and accuracy as a result of good fundamentals.
If the class as a general whole shows high proficiency in the above areas quickly, we will move into using a handgun with speed while also still engaging in precision.
Sunday will become more fast-paced, working on a deliberate, consistent and quick draw from the holster, preferably concealed, at increasingly difficult targets from varying distances, shooting multiple rounds at speeds while maintaining accuracy, transitioning targets, shooting in movement and while moving, and more.
***Note****: The Sunday portion of this weekend builds upon the skills from Saturday. If signing up for only the
