Rocky Mountain Gun Club
This is an intensive, two-day course is focusing on introduction to and building realistic, effective fighting skills with both a fighting rifle / carbine and handgun in low-light and no-light environment. Is is not built for the slow types; what breaks we take will be short, as there is a huge amount of training and work to squeeze into this weekend.
This is not a beginners course, with perquisites required of having attended our “Defenders Series”, or the Defensive Handgun II & II, or our Advanced Fighting Handgun Course, along with our Combat Rifle / Carbine Applications, and/ or the Fighting Rifle & Handgun Course, or other provable fighting weapons courses where your own skills are up-to-date and can be verified.
Basically, we need to know you can already proficiently and professionally use a handgun and rifle in a fighting manner before you can attend this course. Realistic skills and high proficiency in both handling and use of both weapon types must be either known by us or demonstrable.
Other considerations for attending this course if not a student of previous Defenders USA courses is a prerequisite of provable, extensive, professional, and realistic firearms training with both handgun and fighting rifle systems, or as a full-time firearms carrier, such as sworn LE or solid MIL training (unfortunately, most standard MIL firearms training is not very good).
Unfortunately, we’ve had folks who believe they are weapons proficient, with even some being “firearms instructors”, who were not prepared for this course yet showed up without solid, realistic training with their long guns and/or handguns.
To attend, you need to be proficient. If you aren’t sure you’re up to this standard, contact us so we can figure it out with you or let us help you get there in our other courses….see our other courses available.
This is an extensive, dynamic course, mostly in an low light to no light environment in an indoor range. We will also use a low-light shoot house once solid handing, shooting, movement, barricade use, tactics, use in and around vehicles, transitions, malfunction clearance, team skills, etc. are built and demonstrated.
The students will by pushed hard by experts with many years of training and actual operational and fighting experience in low-light environments. Come expecting to work hard, sweat a lot, shoot even, and you have to be open to learning.
– Rifle / Carbine with weapon light and a good sling, 3 magazines, 800 – 1,000 or rounds of ammo
– Handgun with a reliable weapon light, reliable holster built for a handgun with a weapon light, 3 magazines, 800 – 1,000 rounds of ammo
– Spare hand held flashlight(s) of good quality with multiple spare batteries
– Any kit, gear, and accessories you want to use (professional carriers, such as LE/Mil, PMC, and other security personnel are encouraged to bring and wear duty gear).

This course will immediately start on the range, going through both lighted and low light conditions and considerations, into building skill, speed, and accuracy in low to no light environments.
