2 Day Decisional Defender Handgun- Cameo, CO
This 2 Day Decisional Defender Pistol class is perfect for the civilian, military, LEO shooter, or competitor who wants to develop and hone decision making handgun skills. This class will take shooters beyond where most training goes for a defensive context.
As the title says, this class will focus on decision making and building cognitive capacity for fighting with a handgun while also being acceptably or precisely accurate as varying targets dictate.
We will work on speed and accuracy from the holster on the first day while building individual cognitive load capacity. The second day will have a heavy focus on the decisional and cognitive load aspects of fighting handgun, involving topics of target selection, shoot or no shoot drills, high cognitive load drills, and more.
This course intended for those who already have a decent to high degree of skill in handgun safety and fundamentals, although we will spend time there as needed.
Of note, if you’ve not attended a pervious course with us or do not demonstrate solid proficiency at the beginning of this training course, the instructor can, at their discretion, ask you to complete a short proficiency handling and shooting test that is standardized.
If that test is not passed, and at the instructor’s sole discretion, you will not be allowed to attend the rest of the training but will be invited to move into one of our Handgun Fundamentals courses at no cost. At the same time, the fee for this course will not be refunded.
We’ll start at 8:30 am at the Cameo Shooting and Education Complex and end around 5:30 pm. The bay number will be announced soon.
Range Fee:
There is also a Range Fee of $20 that will need to be paid in cash prior to the start of the course, so please bring that with you.
A quality holster is a must in this course, so if you aren’t sure if your holster is of decent to good quality, contact us as soon as possible, because if you need a good holster, it will take some time to order one and get it shipped to you.

Doing this course from concealment is recommended but open carry is also just fine for those with duty or competition gear.
***A note about ammunition availability:
We have purposefully structured the course so that it maximizes training while limiting the amount of rounds being shot, since ammo is currently somewhat hard to come by.
Items & information needed:
Handgun
3 magazines
350 to 500 rounds of ammunition
Holster & sturdy belt (preferably a quality holster – feel free to call with any holster questions)
***NOTE: NO Blackhawk SERPA holsters or of similar design, NO collapsible holsters, NO sticky or pocket holsters, NO bra holsters, NO shoulder holsters, and NO purse holsters (call with any questions or for any exceptions).
Closed-toed shoes
No shirts with plunging neck lines
Eye & ear protection
This is an outdoor range, so whatever clothing layers needed for that day.
Any snacks and anything you want to eat or drink throughout the day. We will take a lunch break so you can either go get food or feel free to bring a lunch.
Optional items & information:
Hat with a brim
A chair
A packed lunch and anything wanted to snack on or drink throughout the day.
Sunscreen and/or bug spray
One or two magazine pouches
