2-Day Handgun: Speed, Accuracy, Movement & Fighting – Lufkin, TX
The 2-Day Handgun: Speed, Accuracy, Movement & Fighting training course is brought to you by the Lufkin A Girl & A Gun chapter.
Jan Martin is incredible leader of the Lufkin AG&AG chapter and she is an host, please be sure to thank her for all the effort and planning she has gone to in order to bring such quality training for you to attend.
This course is perfect for the intermediate to advanced handgun user who wants to grow ability, confidence, and skill in becoming a fast and accurate, then progressing into a solid defensive and fighting shooter, or revisiting these skills in order to fine tune the multitude of aspects that go into fighting with a gun for life itself.
This training course is open to the public and will have a lot of the ladies of the Lufkin AG&AG there as students.
We’ll start at 8:30 am at the Angelina Rifle & Pistol Club (1438 Rifle Rd, Pollok, TX 75969) and end around 5 to 5:30 pm both days.
NOTE: There is a $20 Range Fee per day each shooter will need to bring in cash – this only applies to non-ARPC members. ARPC members do NOT need to pay a range fee.
On Saturday, we will focus on speed, accuracy and some movement with a handgun, building on previously learned skills, OR refining in these three areas. We will be working on a deliberate, consistent and efficient draw from the holster, preferably concealed, at increasingly difficult targets from varying distances, shooting multiple rounds at speeds while maintaining accuracy, transitioning targets, shooting in movement and while moving, and more.
On Sunday, will become more fast-paced and we’ll add a lot more dynamic movement, shooting and fighting from a multitude of positions, defending others, decisional shooting, stress-based shooting, and more as the courses of fire become more challenging and as skills continue to grow.
You will also have several opportunities to earn the Defenders USA Skills Patch during this course.
If you want to get a quality holster for before this class, we highly recommend Brent Hickmon of Haven Defense Co. (970-987-3471) for an excellent, custom-made holster. Brent is local to the Western Slope of Colorado; he and his lovely wife make holsters on a full time basis for incredible shooters all over America and he is a certified Master Handgun Instructor with Defenders USA.
